Tulsa, Oklahoma (August 21, 2009)—Breeze Legal Solutions, the innovative litigation software developer, launches Breeze eDiscovery Suite to enable law firms to expertly process Native and image files in-house. Breeze eDiscovery Suite specializes in identifying and extracting metadata from Native file documents, Native file to TIF conversion, electronic Bates stamping and load file creation for litigation document production.

When investigating the grounds of a case or defending a client, legal groups gather documents in both paper and electronic format, or electronically stored information (ESI). ESI consists of computer files stored on computer hard drives, network servers or hosted sites. As comparison, ESI is discoverable just as a paper document is discoverable from a file cabinet. Breeze eDiscovery Suite has been developed to process both document formats (text and image) during discovery.

ESI that firms encounter most often is saved into Native file formats—such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Evidently, there are a multitude of software programs and each program can potentially create its own Native file format. This creates obstacles for law firms when attempting to bring eDiscovery processing in-house. This is where Breeze eDiscovery Suite makes the difference for firms with user-friendly and cost-effective in-house document processing.

Additional complexities exist when processing Native files. Often, Native files contain embedded items and objects, which need to be identified and extracted. The embedded objects also contain metadata, which can be crucial to the case. Yet other Native files are created in foreign languages and are Unicode-based. The same processing techniques used for English-based Native files need to be performed on foreign-language Unicode Native files. Generally, this requires specialized processing and can be very costly. But, Breeze eDiscovery Suite has been designed to handle both embedded objects as well as Unicode based Native files by default.

Breeze eDiscovery Suite has Breeze Images built right into the interface. With Breeze Images, the user is able to process image files to single or multi-page TIFs or PDFs; electronically Bates number and Bates Stamp (in a footer as opposed to an overlay); perform high quality Optical Character Recognition (OCR); and create load files for legal databases such as Summation, Concordance, TrialDirector, Sanction and iPro Viewer. Other functions include batch print image files and resetting document breaks in existing load file volumes—right from in-house desktop convenience.

Clearly, DIY (Do-It-Yourself) legal software means litigation attorneys in law firms, government agencies and large corporations no longer need to send these documents to costly outside vendors for processing—which saves law firms money and time. Significantly, the firm can access discovery documents within hours with Breeze eDiscovery Suite, as opposed to extra days it takes for outside vendors or service bureaus to process the same documents.

For hassle-free eDiscovery processing, there’s no comparison to Breeze eDiscovery Suite, “the Swiss Army Knife of document processing,” says Simon Aleman, President and CEO of Breeze Legal Solutions.

Breeze Legal Solutions provides litigation support software. Breeze revolutionized legal software applications by empowering law firms (small shops to large corporations) to process documents in-house, instead of outsourcing to expensive service bureaus. Breeze’s user-friendly DIY cutting edge software maximizes in-house document processing with cost-effectiveness and user controls—while gaining a competitive edge for clients.

Tulsa, Okla. (January 1, 2009) – It’s time to take Breeze seriously. At least the newspapers think so. The Journal Record, a respected business journal, reports in a December article that Breeze Legal Solutions is capitalizing on a profitable launch year to grow both its software tools and litigation-support services.

Looks like Breeze is becoming the resource for litigation support. The company is “building an international following,” the Journal Record says, adding that Breeze has sold close to 100 licenses in North America and the United Kingdom.

Breeze is set to “maximize the emerging brand’s potential,” the article says. A strong team is already on board to help.

Breeze recently welcomed to its team Rhea Chatham, a Dallas-based marketing expert, to oversee the expansion of software, which includes the release of some exciting new products in 2009.

All of our products underscore the company’s mission: empower our clients with the tools and the knowledge to process documents in-house and quit spending time and money on outsourcing. Do it yourself. Do it better.

Breeze also extends support services through its sister company, inCase, to provide litigation-readiness plans in accordance with new federal laws, and in the near future, offer full case management. Billy Hindman, an eDiscovery specialist, recently joined the team to oversee this new catalog of services.

All this, considering a global financial downturn? Yep. Economic difficulties increase litigation, which creates an even greater need for Breeze and the litigation solutions it provides. We’re just getting started.

After wowing the West Coast with a breakthrough program, local software developer launches on his home turf.

Simon Aleman returns to his childhood home for a major legal conference after a national public debut of Breeze, watershed software litigating attorneys. With skyrocketing sales and several major contracts in the works, this is only the beginning for Breeze Legal Solutions.

Breeze dropped jaws last month at LegalTech West Coast in Los Angeles, one of the field’s largest trade shows. Simon expects a similar reaction at the National Association of Legal Assistants’ annual conference July 30-Aug.2 in Oklahoma City, where Breeze is center stage as the Gold Sponsor.

Breeze empowers law firms to digitalize and manage documents in-house at a desktop computer. With just a simple scanner, Breeze independently OCRs, Bates numbers, batch-processes and creates load files for analysis software that all litigating law firms use, like Summation, TrialDirector, Concordance, Sanction and IPRO.

Currently, most firms farm out this work to service vendors, which decreases productivity and increases costs. Breeze is blowing away the competition with its easy-to-use format and affordable price tag.

Breeze empowers law firms to:

Stop paying big money to outside vendors.

Get working documents immediately.

Increase billable hours.

Take control of document-processing: get data when and how you need it.

Here’s what our customers think of Breeze:

“It’s a must-have application … Breeze literally paid for itself the first hour we used it.” –Jason Ellard, litigation support for Senniger Powers LLC, a 36-attorney intellectual-property law firm

“Anything that can keep work in-house as opposed to outsourcing will save time and money.” --Patrick Muscat, assistant prosecutor for the state of Michigan

Crowd swarms. Businesses already looking to buy. The place to be is booth #501.

You could say it was the giveaways of free food, drinks and a brand-new scooter worth thousands. But that’d be wrong. The reason LegalTech attendees hovered around booth #501 was Breeze, breakthrough desktop software that processes documents in-house. That’s right. Right there in your firm. Goodbye outside vendors.

Breeze creates load files, Bates numbers, OCRs, transfers files and batch-processes documents at your computer. Easily turn documents into load files for Summation, TrialDirector, Concordance, Sanction and IPRO. And the OCR performs with 95-percent accuracy.

Breeze is compatible with any scanner or multifunction device. It requires no additional scanning applications. The self-explanatory design requires little to no training. Those assets, along with its affordable price tag, set Breeze apart.

Breeze is a different kind of company. And it likes that. So do its customers. Breeze already has a large following after just 18 months on the market:

Aleman spoke to a full house about his recent and stunning success since Breeze launched late last year.

Aleman discussed the long hours and many late nights he devoted to developing Breeze while he operated his Tulsa-based litigation-support service bureaus, the inCase Group.

Breeze is downloadable software that digitalizes and processes documents for law firms to manage files. Breeze converts multi-page TIF or PDF files so they can be loaded into sometimes-cumbersome databases that attorneys use to manage thousands and thousands of documents.

Most law firms currently pay outside vendors to do the bulk of this work, but Breeze empowers employees to do 80 percent it with a computer and simple scanner.

“The need has always been there to get this work completed it’s just really been me being in the right place with the right experience to realize the opportunity,” Aleman said.

“I asked myself, “Why can’t a legal secretary to this at his or her desk?’ I saw this as a great opportunity to simplify the process and develop a product that would allow the end-user to perform functions they were previously paying other people to do.”

Aleman is an example of determination and insight that’s necessary for entrepreneurs and small businesses, which is why Oklahoma Venture Forum invited him to speak to others in these fields.

The Oklahoma Venture Forum (OVF) is a non-profit corporation organized to encourage economic development in Oklahoma. The OVF works to increase the utilization of Oklahoma's resources, resulting in the establishment and growth of new and existing business ventures. They’re on the Web at www.ovf.org.

Before focusing on litigation support, Aleman ran a company in the 1990s that developed software to streamline emergency calls the dispatchers who answered them. He joined a litigation-support firm in 2000 and then started his own companies.

The developer of Breeze, breakthrough litigation software, was announced this week as one of 2008's first young Oklahoma companies to receive an award from the Technology Business Finance Program (TBFP), a brainchild of the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST).

The TBFP is managed by i2E and funded by the Oklahoma State Legislature as a financial first step to rising technology-based businesses. iDea Mill Technologies, the parent company of Breeze Legal Solutions, must match the $100,000 and currently has investors to help that effort.

"We already have people at the table and ready to back Breeze," said Simon Aleman, a native Oklahoman and president of iDea Mill. "They believe in it, and this grant proves that Oklahoma does too."

Breeze Legal Software is a downloadable digital-imaging processing program for law firms to manage digital documents. It runs on desktops, including Windows XP and Vista systems, and operates with toolbar buttons, much like Outlook. Breeze converts documents into digital form so they can be managed in legal databases instead of a paper-bulging file cabinet.

Law firms today pay outside vendors uncountable dollars to convert files. Breeze allows anyone to do it at a desktop computer with a basic multi-function scanner. Firms save money and increase billable hours. Plus, the program's easy-to-use format and low price tag sets it far apart from anything currently on the market.

Breeze has identified a “clear need, and the fact that they have already demonstrated the ability to sell the product in the marketplace bodes well,” said Greg Main, CEO and president of i2E, a nonprofit company created to reach the OCAST aim of building technological business in Oklahoma.

“We are happy to be a part of it. Simon knows how to get a company up and running and move it to success, so that was a big plus,"

Four companies have so far been awarded the TBFP this fiscal year, and since the program began in 1998, it has issued 90 awards to 81 companies, totaling more than $9.65 million.

To be eligible for a TBFP, a company must:

be a technology-based organization early in development

classify as a small business, which usually means less than 500 employees.

show potential for success and job growth with wages 35 to 40 percent higher than average.

be located primarily in Oklahoma.

Innovative "bridge" software called Breeze makes complicated litigation database programs more accessible and manageable for firm employees. The program empowers an end-user to convert docs of most formats into load files for popular databases like Summation, Concordance, Sanction and TrialDirector. It also Bates numbers and provides optical character recognition (OCR) with 95 percent accuracy.

Users can do all of this from a desktop computer equipped with Breeze. Now law firms can maximize their investment in multi-function devices. Plus, the program format is so simple that no training is needed to use it.

That means Breeze greatly reduces the cost and dependency so many firms have on outside vendors. When firms manage their own document-processing, efficiency increases and billing hours multiply. Most importantly, law firms get work product when they need it, instead of gambling on a service vendor’s time frame.

Breeze also maximizes investments in multi-function devices because it doesn’t require additional scanning applications. That asset, along with its low price tag and easy-to-use format, sets Breeze apart.

Breeze uncovers the secret of document-processing. Finally, information is available to any firm employee, not just the tech-savvy one. This watershed software arrives just in time for the sweeping changes technology is making to a formerly paper-dependent field.

Thirty days after going on sale, Breeze was bought by major international law firms. One litigation-support specialist at a Washington-D.C. firm said Breeze paid for itself in one day.

Merrill Corp., the nation’s largest litigation consultant, named Breeze a Tier-1 product – one of only three to earn its highest designation.
It’s only a sign of what’s to come.

Breeze empowers law firms to:

Stop paying big money to outside vendors.

Get working documents immediately.

Increase billable hours.
