FAQ – Summation Connector

Q: eCopy also offers OCR capabilities. How is the OCR add-on to the Connector different from eCopy’s?
A: Our OCR is very accurate and fast. We also automatically save the OCR to the necessary formats for Load File and Concordance. For Summation, we save out to single-page txt files. For Concordance, we save out to multi-page txt files.

Q: eCopy also offers Bates numbering capabilities. How is the Bates numbering add-on for the Connector different from eCopy’s?
A: Our Bates number is in a footer, so you don’t have to worry about stamping over valuable information on the image. The Bates numbering eCopy offers is an overlay, which doesn’t offer the same assurance. The other difference is that our add-on technology recognizes the Barcode slipsheets that you use to batch-scan and won’t include them in the OCR or Bates numbering sequence. The eCopy Bates numbering service does not.

Q: Can I see a demonstration of Summation Connector before I buy it? If so, how?
A: Of course you can. We simply send you a link to join us in an online meeting room available through GoToMeeting. This allows you to see our computer from your computer. The meeting room also has conference-call capabilities, so we can walk you through every step.

Q: Can you install the Connector for me?
A: Sure. We’ll install and then test the program for a service fee.

Q: Do you send someone on site to install the Summation Connector?
A: We’d love to see you, but we don’t want to bother you. So, we’ll just hop into a virtual meeting room, where you give us control of your computer. Then, we quickly install and test the Connector.

Q: What kind of hardware do I need to run the Connector?
A: You need a standard eCopy ScanStation, but for better performance, we recommend increasing the memory to 1gb RAM.

Q: Do I need any additional software to run the Connector?
A: You need to access to the Summation executable, and you need to load the Summation client on the ScanStation.

Q: Why do I have to pay a maintenance fee?
A: It’s really in your best interest. Maintenance includes a one-hour tutorial on how to use the Connector, as well as software updates and technical support when needed.

Q: What kind of technical support can I expect with the maintenance fee?
A: The best, really. See, our relationship with you really begins after you buy the Connector. We're always here to answer your questions by phone or e-mail. And if you need to complete a specific task on the spot, we’ll open a virtual meeting and walk you through your project.

Q: How can I contact technical support?
A: We can be reached Monday through Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm CST via email at Support@BreezeLit.com or you can call us at (888) 470-0621 ext 11.

For pricing information, just give us a call, we'd love to speak with you!
